About Us

Engine Company 63 was organized on February 1st, 1896 and is currently housed with Battalion 15 at 755 East 233 Street in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. For over 100 years Engine 63 has provided dedicated service to the residents of Wakefield, Woodlawn, Williamsbridge, Edenwald, and all around the “Occupied North Bronx”. Engine 63 has the largest response area in all the Bronx consisting of a wide variety of building constructions: private dwellings, taxpayers, “H” types, apartment projects, high-rises, three railroad lines (2 and 4 trains, Metro North), the Bronx River Parkway, and the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87). It is also not uncommon for our company to respond to the cities of Yonkers and Mount Vernon on a mutual aid assist. Engine 63 does around 4000 runs a year and continually ranks at the top of the city for first due work. Battalion 15 also does around 4000 runs a year and is continually ranked at the top of the City for structural work. The officers and members of 63 Engine and the 15 Battalion will continue to provide dedicated service to the people of the "Top of Da Bronx" for many years to come.
